December 18, 1977, fellow artists who were notified of winning the contest attended the award ceremony. Surprisingly both of my entries won. Islaw Evangelista took these pictures during the awards night.

 

These two paintings that I submitted for the "Hiyas ng Bulacan National Art Competition" were done at my home studio in San Felipe, Zambales. Bringing these large paintings to Manila is always a hustle. I always take the Victory Liner first trip to Manila and I sat on the very back of the bus to assure a cargo space and safety of my paintings. A fellow Zambaleno artist from CITIBANK PAD gave us a ride to Malolos, Bulacan to submit our entries.
